Introducing Old House Playground
Old House Playground was created in spring 2005 by Tryfon Lazos and Evangelos Vassilakos as the evolution of Plaything, a group that served the two talented composers and musicians as the fertile ground for their early experimentation with matching different kinds of music to creatively produce inspired new concepts and sounds. Plaything recorded 2 demos, a total of 6 songs, which received very good reviews from a large number of zines in many countries around the world - USA, Canada, UK, Israel, Argentina, Spain, Japan, Greece etc. Having grown significantly in experience and style in both writing and performing, Old House Playground now present their self-produced debut, “The Whore and the Dog”: a complete album of 14 original new songs that constitute a unique blend of Jazz, Blues, Rock, Retro, Alternative,Rebetika (Greek forlk outcast's music) even a scent of Flamenco – imagine Tom Waits and White Stripes meeting with Madrugada and Miles Davis in a smoky alley bar of the 1940’s and singing their way through a night of Bukowskily sad, subtly ironic reflection on lost love, passion and angst Songs of the album are available for listening in myspace.com/oldhouseplayground, already experiencing impressive acceptance and remarks. Please visit regularly, together with the official site, to check for updates. Old House Playground are presently in the process of finding a record label to publish their work and enable them to reach and perform to audiences around the world.
